The optimal time to experience the tour is from October to April. During these months, Northern Patagonia enjoys a milder climate, making it ideal for exploring both the mountain trails and the natural beauty of its lakes. This period avoids the heavy winter snows, ensuring more comfortable travel and exploration. The transition months of October and November offer a unique opportunity to experience the blooming of the Patagonian spring, while March and April paint the forests in vibrant reds and ochres. Notably, the tour includes visits to places like the Black Glacier and glamping experiences at Rio Manso, which are best enjoyed under clear skies and comfortable temperatures, further supporting the choice of these months for travel.

Day 1 - Arrival in Bariloche
Your Patagonian journey begins in San Carlos de Bariloche, one of Argentina’s most spectacular mountain destinations. Set on the shores of the vast Nahuel Huapi Lake and surrounded by the Andes, Bariloche has dramatic landscapes of snow-capped peaks, crystal-clear lakes, native forests and a distinctive Alpine character shaped by the region’s European heritage. Our driver will meet you at the airport to take you to your comfortable retreat, which has a private beach by the lake, a relaxing spa, and a beautiful natural waterfall within the grounds. Settle in and enjoy the surroundings, preparing for the days of exploration ahead. Overnight at La Cascada Casa Patagónica.
Day 2 - Cerro Campanario
After breakfast with a view, set out to discover some of Bariloche’s most beautiful landscapes (2 hours). Begin with a visit to Cerro Campanario, where a short chairlift ride takes you to the summit. From the top, enjoy sweeping views across the blue waters of Nahuel Huapi and Moreno Lakes, forested peninsulas and the surrounding Andes. Take your time to soak up the scenery, perhaps with a coffee or light bite at the summit café. In the afternoon, continue along the scenic Circuito Chico sightseeing routes. The 4-hour drive winds through the forests of Llao Llao Municipal Park, with spectacular viewpoints overlooking Moreno Lake and El Trébol Lagoon. Return to your hotel in the late afternoon. Enjoy an evening at the spa. Overnight at La Cascada Casa Patagónica.
Day 3 - Nahuel Huapi
Today, experience Nahuel Huapi Lake from the water on a private boat excursion. Surrounded by the Andes and native coihue forests, the vast lake is dotted with secluded bays and quiet beaches that are best appreciated from the water. As you cruise along the lake, take in the changing views of the mountains and forested shoreline while enjoying a traditional tabla de fiambres, a selection of local cured meats and cheeses served on board. With the Patagonian breeze, deep blue waters and dramatic mountain scenery all around you, it is a relaxed and memorable way to experience the wild beauty of Bariloche. Return to the hotel in the afternoon and enjoy the spa once again. Overnight at La Cascada Casa Patagónica.
Day 4 - Cerro Tronador & Black Glacier
Set out around 09:00 for a full-day excursion to Cerro Tronador, the highest mountain in Nahuel Huapi National Park and one of the most impressive landscapes around Bariloche. The scenic journey takes you through native forests, along clear mountain rivers and into the rugged Andean scenery. At the foot of the mountain, discover the remarkable Ventisquero Negro, or Black Glacier. Its unusual dark appearance comes from rocks and moraine carried by the moving ice, creating a striking contrast against the surrounding mountains. Listen for the deep rumble of the glacier as chunks of ice break away – a reminder that this dramatic landscape is constantly changing. Snacks will be provided during the day, followed by a delicious lunch in the heart of the mountains. Return to your hotel around 18:30. Overnight at La Cascada Casa Patagónica.
Day 5 - Horseback Riding
Rise ready to live the true Patagonian countryside experience. After a 40-min drive from your hotel to the estancia, a rural ranch, you will embark on an approximately 2-hour guided horseback ride through ancient forests and open Patagonian steppe, enjoying the scenery at a relaxed pace. Back at the ranch, gather around the fire for an authentic Argentine asado, the country’s famous barbecue. Savour quality cuts of meat prepared in traditional style and served in a rustic setting, offering a taste of local life and Patagonia’s rich culinary heritage. Following the meal, take a 40-min drive back to your hotel. Overnight at La Cascada Casa Patagónica.
Day 6 - Kayaking
After breakfast, follow the northern shores of Nahuel Huapi Lake on a scenic drive to Villa La Angostura (1 hour 30 min). Welcome to one of Patagonia’s prettiest mountain villages, with its charming wooden houses, forest-lined streets and spectacular setting between the Andes and the lake. After check-in, head out onto the water for a guided kayaking experience. From your kayak, discover Nahuel Huapi Lake at a gentler pace, gliding along its clear waters beneath forested slopes and mountain peaks. The changing perspectives reveal a quieter side of Patagonia, far from the roads and viewpoints. Take a break along the shore to enjoy snacks and warm drinks before returning to the hotel. Overnight at Las Balsas Relais & Châteaux.
Day 7 - Whitewater Rafting
Today, head out for an exciting 5-hour rafting adventure on the Limay River, one of Patagonia’s most scenic waterways. First, meet your certified river guides for a safety briefing and equipment fitting before setting off downstream. As you navigate the river’s rapids, the deep blue water winds through the vast, open steppe beneath the Andes. Between the more exhilarating stretches, keep an eye out for the trout in the clear waters. After the rafting, unwind with a traditional merienda campestre, a country-style snack of freshly prepared tortas fritas (fried dough) and hot infusions. Return to your hotel in the afternoon for some well-deserved relaxation in the spa. Overnight at Las Balsas Relais & Châteaux.
Day 8 - Isla Victoria & Arrayanes Forest
Prepare for a magical day sailing across the lake to Isla Victoria and the legendary Arrayanes Forest. After a transfer to Bahía Brava, board your boat for a scenic 50-min crossing, with beautiful views. Once ashore, explore the remarkable Arrayanes Forest along its wooden walkways. Here, the distinctive arrayán trees, a type of Patagonian myrtle, create an almost fairy-tale setting with their smooth, cinnamon-coloured bark and delicate white flowers. This rare woodland is one of the region’s most iconic sights and is often associated with the inspiration for the Walt Disney’s Bambi. After exploring this unique landscape (3 hours), return to the boat and travel back to your hotel in the late afternoon. Overnight at Las Balsas Relais & Châteaux.
Day 09 - Seven Lakes Route
Set out on a full-day scenic journey along the Seven Lakes Route, from Villa La Angostura to San Martín de los Andes. Following National Route 40 through Nahuel Huapi and Lanín National Parks, the road winds between the Andes, ancient forests and a succession of glacial lakes, each with its own colours and character. Along the way, admire the shores of Espejo, Correntoso, Falkner, Villarino, Escondido, Machónico and Lácar lakes, stop at scenic Patagonian viewpoints. You will also catch glimpses of hidden lakes such as Espejo Chico, Traful, Hermoso, and Meliquina along the way. Arrive in San Martín de los Andes, a charming town on the shores of Lake Lácar, where you can enjoy lunch. Return to Villa La Angostura in the late afternoon. Overnight at Las Balsas Relais & Châteaux.
Day 10 - Departure
Enjoy a final breakfast surrounded by the peaceful landscapes of Argentine Patagonia, with one last opportunity to take in the beauty of Nahuel Huapi Lake and the surrounding mountains. Your private driver will take you to Bariloche Airport for your onward journey. Take with you memories of turquoise lakes, Andean forests, charming mountain villages and the warm hospitality that makes this corner of Argentina so special.
