Fascinating Wildlife

Brazil is considered to have the greatest biodiversity in the world, much more than any other country. The numbers of plants, freshwater fish, mammals, birds and reptiles is outstanding. There are many endemic species as well. Given the vast area of the country, there are many ecosystems and a wide variety of wildlife specific to each of them. The main regions to visit for wildlife lovers, are the wetlands of the Pantanal and the Amazon Rainforest. If you can’t wait to spot a jaguar, swim with the pink dolphin or to go on a bird watching trip – we can organise it for you!

River Cruises

Cruising is one of the best ways to explore the Amazon. We work with small-scale traditional boats of maximum 16 people. The tours are designed in such a way to offer fun activities, relaxation and sightseeing. Departures start both from Manaus and Santarem. Swim with the pink-dolphin, watch beautiful sunsets, taste some of the Amazonian dishes, go canoeing along the tiny igarapes, visit local communities and learn about the rainforest. Cruising offers an authentic way to experience the big river and it usually is a great value for money compared to land-based programs.

Brazilian Cuisine

The abundance of ingredients, combined with rich cultural influences, makes Brazilian food unique. There is quite a culinary difference from region to region, but in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo you can taste it all. Belém is an absolute must-do for foodies with the best chefs from all over Brazil, mastering delicious dishes out of fresh ingredients, such as shrimp with tacaca, duck with tucupi, tambaqui ribs, crabs from the Amazon delta, the real açai, and farinha d’agua. Minas Gerais is another food paradise, especially for its cheese and feijoada.  In the South of Brazil they make wine, you might have not heard of it, but it is very good. Bento Gonçalves is the place to go.

Magnetic Celebrations

Some of the most vivid celebrations in the world are taking place in Brazil each year. New Years is absolutely fantastic in Rio de Janeiro and is a great place to be in Brazil in January. The Carnival is usually happening in February and March. This famous event is celebrated all across the country, but Rio seems to be the place to be at this time of the year. Bumba meu Boi is another amazing celebration happening in Sao Luis and Parintins in late June. July is the time to visit Chapada dos Veadeiros and celebrate Encontro de Culturas, where indigenous tribes meet in an effort to preserve their identity and culture.
