Location: Casa Cairuçu is overlooking a calm protected bay in Paraty, in the south of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It is located inside a protected area, surrounded by pristine beaches, swathes of rainforest and traditional fishing communities. No roads or cars disturb the breathtaking views; just passing fishing boats and from time to time turtles and dolphins.
How to get here: Fly to Rio de Janeiro ( GIG) and head south to Paraty by road for about 4,5 hours. Then take a 20 minute boat ride to the house across the aquamarine water.
Structure: Casa Cairucu is a private beach house. There is a fully equipped kitchen. You will have an English-speaking remote concierge and all the food and drinks will be stocked for. The housekeeper Adriana prepares simple tasty Brazilian lunches and dinners for no extra cost; you just pay for the groceries. The housekeeper can arrange for passing fishermen to sell fresh snapper, prawns or mahi-mahi to BBQ for dinner. Local restaurants are available for lunch only and there are no local shops. There is 1 SUP and a double kayak with lifejackets.
Rainy Season (Dec to March): The hottest and busiest time of year: it generally rains mid afternoon and freshens things up. Temperatures range from 23-29 degrees C.
Mild Season (April to June and Sept to Nov): Few people, warm weather. Temperatures range from 22-28 degrees C.
Winter (July to August): Generally dry and colder at night. Temperatures range from 11-23 degrees C.
