This 8-day quad bike safari along endless stretches of sandy beaches is an unforgettable experience that will give you a flavour of Ceara’s coastline in the north-east of Brazil. Starting in Fortaleza, the tour heads towards the north-west, all the way to Jericoacoara National Park. If you are looking for a mix of calm deserted beaches, this trip is for you. Stop in Taíba with its long peaceful beaches, then move to the idyllic Trairi, known for its picturesque white sands. Arrive in the castaway village of Jericoacoara with its vibrant nightlife and laid-back vibe. Discover picturesque dunes, crystalline lagoons, lazy fishing villages, rivers, palm groves and a community of wave-riders. This is an off-road adventure trip, a great choice for active travellers, including kitesurfers and surfers, who want to move along different beaches. Stay in charming beach villas with lots of comfort and indulge in the relaxed beach lifestyle of the Brazil’s north-east. You can start either in Jericoacoara or Fortaleza, and we will adjust the trip depending where you arrive. We can tailor this itinerary to suit your plans by changing the length of the trip or the order of activities.

International flights are not included in the package price. We give you the freedom to book the flights yourself, use miles and choose your preferred airline, and if you are stuck we can help you find the right connections. Return flights to Brazil start from £800 per person, depending on the connections and time of the year. Fly to Fortaleza (FOR) or Jijoca (JJD).

For families and groups (starting with 5 pax), we can book domestic flights in Brazil, during the high season, and if the trip is part of a more complex itinerary. This is to ensure a seamless travel and no complications.

One can visit year round. From July to January it is the best time for wind – and kitesurfing, in case you would like to combine it with this beach discovery tour.

Day 1 - Fortaleza to Paracuru

Today you will start your beach hopping adventure trip in Fortaleza. You will be met and briefed about the logistics of the trip. The luggage will be transported to the hotel in Paracuru separately. You will pick up your buggy and head to the beaches. Stop in Cumbuco and Taiba, two sleepy fishing villages located away from the hustle and bustle of Fortaleza, the perfect oases of tranquility. Stretch out in the temperate coastal climate and let the sea breezes carry you off to a calmer existence. Enjoy a spectacular panorama with stunning ocean views. Overnight at Vila Aytana.

Day 2 - Paracuru to Trairi

Today take a scenic beach hopping journey to the coastal haven of Trairi by buggy. Start your trip at the dunes and crystalline lagoons of Lençóis Paracuruenses. Swim in the transparent lagoons and enjoy this wonderful site. Then continue to the picturesque palm-sheltered beach of Lagoinha, a beautiful fisherman village. Life here is slow, and people are very warm-hearted. Continue to Lagoa do Jegue, a beautiful lagoon set among sand dunes, where you can often meet wild donkeys. At last, arrive at the beautiful beach of Guajiru. Spend the afternoon at leisure, soaking in a scenic sunset. Overnight at Villa Vagalume.

Day 3 - Praia de Guajiru

Today head to the beach of Guajiru and enjoy the day chilling in the glorious environment of Ceara. This is by far one of the most beautiful beaches of the region, protected by the reef. The warm waters extending over the coastline of Trairi are ideal for bathing. Explore the numerous tiny natural pools that form at low tide with a snorkel and a mask. For the more adventurous travellers, the sea is ideal for water sports, such as kitesurfing. Try a delicious freshly-made seafood lunch. In the afternoon take a buggy trip to discover the dunes and lagoons around Trairi. Overnight at Villa Vagalume.

Day 4 - Flecheiras & Icarai

Today continue the buggy beach hopping along the coast. Stop for snorkelling in the natural pools of Flecheiras. Visit the picturesque fishing village of Barra do rio Mundaú, with colourful wooden boats, beautiful dunes and views. Continue to the dunes of Lençois Cearenses located on Praia do Jiquí beach. Stop at the emerald beach of Icarai de Amontada, called by the natives Icaraizinho. Natural pools make the main attraction, as well as the trails through the vegetation. Lined palm trees allow you to enjoy refreshing shadows and compose a wonderful landscape. Overnight at Villa Vagalume.

Day 5 - Trairi to Prea

After breakfast, buckle up for an adventurous journey up the coast. This full-day transfer combines around 80 km of beach hopping and two short ferry crossings. This is a fun and scenic way to explore the coastline. At high tide, take a boat trip through the mangrove of the Aracatiaçu River, and there is always time for a shady picnic lunch on the beach in Almofala. Once arrived in Prea, check-in and enjoy the atmosphere of peace and tranquillity of a heavenly beach, located at the entrance of Jericoacoara National Park. This is a real jewel of the Northeast with rolling white dunes and crystalline waters. Overnight at Kite Lodge Brazil.

Day 6 - East Jericoacoara

Today take a buggy tour to the east of Jericoacoara, inside the national park. Visit the iconic Pedra Furada, then, head to Lagoa Azul and Lagoa do Paraíso, two picturesque and dazzlingly clear lagoons with tranquil waters. The waters change from translucent emerald to dark blue depending on the depth. The pleasant temperature of the water and peaceful surroundings make swimming here blissful. Spend some lazy time balancing in the hammocks and have lunch on the over-water terrace at the Alchymist Beach Club. Enjoy a wonderful sunset picnic at a lagoon a little more off the beaten track. Day 7 -  West Jericoacoara

Today take a buggy tour on the western side of Jericoacoara, crossing the river by ferryboat. Visit the interesting dried up mangrove forest on the beach of Guriu. In the town of Velha Tatajuba learn about the past of the village which got gradually covered by sand dunes. Try some adrenaline rush during dune boarding from a huge slope. Later have a delicious and lunch at Lagoa da Torta, a picturesque crystalline lagoon. Relax in hammocks submerged in the water at Lagoa Grande. Return to Jericoacoara catching the right tide. If you are interested in capoeira, we can organize a lesson on the beach with a private teacher. Overnight at Villa Mandi.

Day 8 - Departure

On the last day of the tour, a driver will be on hand at the required time for a transfer from the hotel to the airport for onward flights. Bid farewell to the Ceará coast at the end of this unforgettable adventure trip. If you wish to continue your stay in Brazil, we recommend discovering the stunning landscape of Lencois Maranhenses National Park along the Route of Emotions. Travel all the way to the historic city of Sao Luis, stopping in the picturesque places such as the fishing village of Camocim, Delta of Parnaiba, the idyllic Atins, Barreirinhas and the hidden gem of Santo Amaro. In Atins you can take kitesurfing lessons.
