Location: Ciamapt Camp is located in Santo Amaro, in the satte of Maranhao, Brazil. Santo Amaro is a small heaven in the heart of Lençois Maranhenses National Park surrounded by natural beauty. Santo Amaro is arguable one of the best places on the Route of Emotions, as the dunes and the lagoons are within a walking distance from the village.
How to get here: Fly to Sao Luis (SLZ) and take a land transfer to Santo Amaro. The village is around 4,5 hours drive from São Luís and about 2,5 hour drive from Barreirinhas.
Structure: Ciamat Camp is located the shore of Rio Alegre and has a beautiful garden with lot of trees and flowers on. Although called a camp, it is not really a camp, but a rustic small pousada with stand-alone bungalows, offering a basic level of comfort. There are only a few comfortable wooden chalets surrounded by nature. The chalets were built in an ecological way from wood and straw. They are cool, cozy and are well distributed around the garden to ensure the utmost privacy and comfort. You will find hammocks among the trees waiting for you to relax after excursion. The river is also a great place for a dip. Start your mornings with a nice breakfast with fruits, juices and traditional pastries; served, at your choice, in the garden, patio or on the river shore and continue discovering the park with a guide or at your own pace.
Why staying here: One of the best places to stay in Santo Amaro. Great for those who want to explore Lençois Maranhenses on a deeper level and discover this beautiful park on their own pace, away from touristic routes.
