Brazil in July

Is July a good time to visit Brazil? Yes, July is a great month to see wildlife and beaches in Brazil.

July is excellent for the Route of Emotions, all the lagoons will be in their full splendor and colourful. Jericoacoara will have some strong winds during this month which is excellent for kitesurfing.

The winter month of July is great to visit the colonial town in Minas Gerais. Nights are chilier but days have clear skies.

July has temperatures between 18-25°C in Rio de Janeiro and the neighbouring areas: it is the coolest time of the year in this part of Brazil. The nights can get a bit chilly.

Costa Verde, Paraty, Buzios and the beaches in the state of rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo are good to visit in July.

July is also a great time to visit Bahia and the North-East of Brazil. This is the time for whale-watching. Although there might be light rains in Pernambuco, Alagoas and Fernando de Noronha in July.

The Amazon in July is great. Best for wildlife and drier, although quite hot.

This is a relatively dry month in the Pantanal. Best for wildlife, especially the jaguar. The animals often come down to the riverbanks to drink.

At Iguazu Falls you will find blue skies and agreeable temperatures, and fewer visitors in July. But weather is unpredictable. It may rain, or not – and if you are very unlucky, the falls may have a low flow of water.

It is not the best time to visit the beaches of Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul, but a very good time to see the canyons of Aparados da Serra due to clear visibility.
