Morada dos Canyons

Location: Morada dos Canyons charming luxury chalets are located at the border between two national parks in the south of Brazil. The hotel is placed at an altitude of approx. 650m, 12km from the Itaimbezinho canyon, between the municipalities of Praia Grande and Cambará do Sul, in Serra do Faxinal. Built in an incredible location, on the edge of the canyons of the Aparados da Serra and Serra Geral national parks, the chalets have great views of the canyons from the rooms. The southern canyons are located in the Serra Geral and Aparados da Serra National Park areas, between the states of Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina.

How to get here: Fly to Florianopolis (FLN) or Porto Alegre (POS) and take a road transfer of around 3-4 hours to the chalets.

Structure: The 12 chalets are made in a colonial style, with lots of glass and wood, placed in the middle of nature in full tranquillity and sounds of nature. The chalets are located 25 m to 250 m from the reception. The country houses are 1.5 km from the reception. There is a shuttle service from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm. 

Why staying here: One of the best luxury hotels in Brazil. Hike in the canyons with a guide or take a light walks along the edge. The most visited canyon in the region is Itaimbezinho. It has the steepest walls and impressive depth: up to 720m and at time 2 km distance between its walls. It has two gigantic waterfalls, the Andorinhas and the Véu da Noiva. Rio do Boi Trail is a great hike inside of the canyon. Fortaleza Canyon is another impressive place in the area. There are a few waterfalls here too and many trails one can do from different angles. Malacara Canyon  is visible from the hotel, is also very beautiful. It is worth taking the Poço do Malacara Trail, inside the canyon, between its walls. You can take a relaxing bath in crystal clear waters at the end of the trail, and also observe the transition between the Atlantic Forest and the Nebular Forest.
