Pousada do Amparo

Olinda | Brazil

Small boutique colonial pousada, full of rustic charm and local character, located in the historic centre of Olinda, a colorful town overlooking the turquoise Atlantic Ocean, with colonial churches and an artsy atmosphere. Step back in time and soak in the Brazilian coastal vibe.

Situated in the historic centre of Olinda, on one of the oldest streets in the heart of the UNESCO-honored town, this colonial hotel is a charming little place with great decor and settings. It’s well-situated to explore the old town, and there’s a super Bodega de Veio across the cobbled street where you can enjoy a chilled beer, some great music.

Smartly outfitted with a mix of colonial pieces and modern amenities, the hotel has seventeen suites with wood-beamed ceilings and balconies. There’s a small swimming pool shaded by palm trees and a good restaurant with breezy patio seating, a lovely spot to enjoy an al fresco Brazilian-style breakfast before heading out to explore the city and the beautiful beaches nearby. While eating out on the terrace in the open, be it in the morning or in the evening, surrounded by the gardens full of bright Brazilian flowers feels like dining in paradise – truly romantic.

The pousada consists of two old houses on opposite sides of the street. The suites feature minibars and flat-screen televisions, wireless Internet, phones and safes, and housekeeping is provided daily. Enjoy a satisfying meal at Flor do Coco and wrap up your day with a drink at the bar/lounge.
