Their cosmology, ritual life and social organization are extremely rich and complex. Day 1 - Arrival in Manaus

Arrive in Manaus, the capital of Brazil’s largest state, Amazonas. It is an ideal starting point to explore the Amazon region. Boats are the main means of transportation here. On arrival you will be transferred to the hotel in the center of Manaus. Overnight at Villa Amazonia.

Day 2 - Departure to Xingu Lodge

After breakfast you will be transfered to the airport to catch your charter flight to the Xingu Lodge (3,5 hours flight). The mythological Xingu River inside the Kayapo Indigenous Land in the Brazilian Amazon is home of Xingu Lodge. On arrival at the lodge (20 min by boat upstream) you will be greeted by your host with fresh signature cocktails. After settling in the lodge manager will provide a brief tour of the property and orientation session as well as introduce the staff including both Brazilian and Kayapo members. Depending on your arrival time at the lodge, you will have the afternoon of activities with a short trail in the jungle and the sunset the magnificent lodge view. The lode is located on the bank of the Xingu river looking out over a gorgeous rapid. Every evening you will be delighted by the chef’s delicious gourmet cuisine. Overnight at Xingu Lodge.

Day 3 - Wildlife with warriors

Today wake up early to take kreakfast at the lodge at 06:30. After breakfast depart for a wildlife trail with the Kayapo warriors, your specialist wildlife guide. On the trail you may see various species of privates including, spider monkeys, howler monkeys, and capuchin monkeys as well as various other small animals and birds. Throughout the interpretive trail, the Kayapo warrior will share some of their hunting techniques and their knowledge of the jungle Lunch will be hosted back at the lodge. Following lunch, enjoy some leisure time at the lodge. Time for a special massage or refresh at the swimming pool. After lunch, set out with the guides and Kayapo warriors on a boat safari along the pristine Xingu river, in search of great river otters, tapirs, and macaws. End the evening with cocktails and appetizers at the lodge followed by a delicious dinner prepared by the lodge chef. After dinner embark on a brief night safari, along the river, in search for nocturnal animals. Overnight at Xingu Lodge.

Day 4 - Kayapo Culture Discovery

At 6:30am you will have breakfast at the lodge. After breakfast enjoy the picturesque morning in the Kamotjam indigenous village. The focus of the day will be to learn more about Kayapo people and their way of life. First spend some time with the Kayapo women as they show one of the most iconic elements of their tradition: body painting. Using natural dyes from Amazon ingredients, called jenipapo and urucum. Also learn how they harvest and process the manioc root into a flour, which is one of their main starch staples for their diet.  Next, spend some time with the hunters and learn some of their unique hunting techniques. Also learn about some of the unique dances and ceremonies of the Kayapo. For the truly active guests there is an opportunity to go for a hike with Kayapos to see their camera trap project. After lunch in the village, join the Kayapo children for a refreshing swim in the river. In the afternoon take the speedboat, searching for elusive animals that can be found in this pristine natural environment such as the jaguar and black puma. Get back to the lodge around 5pm for appetizers and cocktails. After dinner, enjoy the bonfire on the beach to hear some of the traditional Kayapo stories. Overnight at Xingu Lodge.

Day 5 - Fishing Experience

At 6:30am you will have breakfast at the lodge. Set out with your naturalist guide and Kayapo warriors for another wildlife outing this time heading down the river, searching for monkeys and mammals. Experience how natives catch fish in the river and take the opportunity to learn more about the catch and release fly fishing activity. You can access a wide variety of waters, from runs, rapids, deep pools, flats, jungle creeks from our specially designed aluminum skiffs with the assistance of one experienced English speaker professional guide and the ancient knowledge of the Kayapos native guides together. That brings to the Xingu a superior fishing experience. Take a fresh fish and traditional picnic lunch on the river prepared by your guides and Kayapo warriors. Return to the lodge in the evening for a sundowner and appetizers. Following dinner your specialist guide has prepared a special astronomy session to take in the impeccable night sky of the Amazon. Connect with the Kayapo like never before, spend the night in their own tribe. Overnight at Xingu Lodge.

Day 6 - Return to Manaus

Enjoy a final breakfast at the Xingu Lodge. Transfer in speedboats (25 min) for your final river safari back to the indigenous Pukararakre Kayapo village. At the village you will have a final chance to say your farewells to the tribe members that were part of your experience. Board your charter plane back to Manaus / Carajas / Marabá (3,5 hours of flight). Upon arrival in Manaus you will be transferred to the hotel in the center. Spend the afternoon discovering the historic center of this giant urban metropolis of the rainforest. Overnight at Juma Opera Hotel.

Day 7 - Departure

Today you will be transferred to the airport to take your flight.
