When to Visit

The best time to visit Bogotá is during the dry seasons, which are from December to February and from July to August. During these months, you can expect milder weather with less rainfall, making it ideal for sightseeing and outdoor activities. The temperatures remain relatively cool year-round due to Bogotá’s high altitude.

Villa de Leyva enjoys a cooler climate similar to Bogotá but can be slightly warmer. The best time to visit is during the dry seasons from December to February and June to August, when the weather is more predictable and conducive to exploring the town’s colonial architecture and surrounding natural attractions.
