This is a sample itinerary and prices are correct at the time of writing. We can tailor it to suit your plans by changing the length of the trip or the order of activities. More days can be added. 

The best time to visit Alsace is during the pre-Christmas time (Advent), starting from the beginning of December right to the 24th of December, to experience the festive atmosphere. However, spring, summer and autumn are also excellent for visiting Alsace, especially for vineyards tours, cycling and hiking.

Day 1 - Strasbourg

Start the trip in Strasbourg, a beautiful city with a rich history. Christmas is fantastic here! Spend the day exploring the festive markets. Climb to the top of the Notre-Dame Cathedral cathedral for panoramic. Stroll along the canals, admire the half-timbered houses, and take in the cozy atmosphere. Enjoy a traditional Alsatian lunch at Maison Kammerzell, a historic restaurant with an excellent regional cuisine. Alsatian cuisine often includes dishes like tarte flambée, choucroute (sauerkraut), and regional wines. As night falls, Strasbourg’s historic center becomes even more enchanting with illuminated buildings and bridges. Take a leisurely evening stroll to appreciate the decorations. Overnight at Cour du Corbeau.

Day 2 - Villages & Mount Sainte Odile

Begin your day in the charming village of Boersch. Stroll through its narrow streets lined with half-timbered houses. Continue to Obernai, another beautiful Alsatian town with a beautiful medieval center. Enjoy the Christmas markets at Place du Marché, just near Hôtel de Ville and the Church of St. Peter & Paul. Enjoy an Alsatian lunch at one of the local restaurants. Next, head to Mont Sainte-Odile, a serene and spiritual place perched on a hilltop (30 min). Explore the abbey complex and its beautiful interior. Breathtaking views of the Alsace region open up form the terrace. Take some time to enjoy the panorama. What a sight! There are scenic hiking trails to explore the forest. Return to Obernai for dinner. Overnight at Cour d’Alsace.

Day 3 - Fairy-Tales & Wine

Begin your day in Mittelbergheim, a charming medieval village with lovely vineyards. Take a stroll through the town, and later go for wine-tasting session at a local winery i.e. Domaine Marcel Deiss, Domaine Bott-Geyl or Domaine Trimbach. These wineries produce some of the most unique dry wines in Alsace. Next, continue to Ribeauville, a charming medieval town with three imposing castles: Château de Saint-Ulrich, Château de Girsberg, and Château du Haut-Ribeaupierre. After lunch, continue to Riquewihr, one of the most picturesque villages of Alsace. Stroll along the narrow streets with colorful houses and visit the Dolder Tower for panoramic views. Explore the shops selling Alsatian wine and cheese. Overnight at Le Chambard.

Day 4 - Kaysersberg & Wine

Start your day in Kaysersberg, an enchanting Alsatian village. Visit the Castle of Kaysersberg with beautiful views of the town and vineyards. Take a walk along the river, explore the quaint streets and enjoy lunch at one of the charming restaurants. Try Alsatian specialties like tarte flambée, quiche Lorraine, or choucroute garnie. After lunch, visit Domaine Weinbach (15 min). This winery produces high-quality wines, including Riesling, Gewürztraminer and Pinot Gris. Book a wine tasting session to try some of their highly regarded Grand Cru wines. Lear about the wine-making process and explore the picturesque estate. Return to Kaysersberg to relax and enjoy dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight at Le Chambard.

Day 5 - Colmar, Eguisheim & Wine

Begin your day in Colmar, a charming and colorful town of Alsace. Wander through the cobblestone streets of the old town and admire the half-timbered houses and canals. After lunch, continue to Eguisheim, a picturesque village with a circular layout and charming houses. Wander through the fairy-tale streets, admiring the colorful houses, fountains, and quaint shops. In the late afternoon, visit Domaine Zind-Humbrecht (20 min), a  local winery which produces fine wines, especially the exceptional Gewürztraminer and Riesling. Book a wine tasting session. The winery is known for its biodynamic practices and high-quality vintages. Return to Colmar for dinner. Overnight at Château d’Isenbourg.

Day 6 - Surprises of Mulhouse

Begin your day with a hearty breakfast at a local café or bakery, then take a walk through the charming old town of Mulhouse. Explore the narrow streets, admire the colorful half-timbered houses. Next, visit Cité de l’Automobile with its Schlumpf Collection, one of the largest car museums in the world. Explore an impressive collection of vintage automobiles, including rare and iconic vehicles. But this is not all, there is also Cité du Train, a fascinating museum dedicated to the history of trains and railways. There is one more unique museum in Mulhouse, which has a rich history in the textile industry. Learn about the intricate printing techniques at Musée de l’Impression sur Étoffes. Continue to BSL Airport for your flight.
