Location: Severin Safari Camp is located quite remotely, in Tsavo West National Park. This eco-friendly camp offers a combination of adventure, wellness and relaxation.
How to get here: The camp is accessible from Mombasa and Nairobi by road, train (Mtito Andei station) or short flights. From the park entrance Mtito Andei it is about an hour to the camp.
Structure: The camp is not fenced, which allows wildlife to come to the nearby waterholes. Expect to see herds of elephants, giraffes, zebras and impalas passing through the hotel grounds. Masai warriors guard the camp ground 24 hours and accompany guests after darkness to and from the tents. The camp is constructed in an elegant natural design. The tents and suites are designed with handmade wooden furniture in a traditional African style. The lounge and restaurant area is open and provides a wonderful panoramic view of the wildlife and the hills. We recommend the suites, which offer a splendid view of Mount Kilimanjaro (in good weather) and the expanse of the savannah. The suites also have a private outdoor shower. The spa is fantastic and the pool area very relaxing.
Why staying here: We recommend to visiting Mzima Springs, Roaring Rocks, Rhino Sanctuary, Poacher’s Lookout, Taita and Chyulu Hills, Chaimu Crater and the various lava caves as the Laviathan. Apart from classic game drives, they offer walking guided tours with a ranger, which are great and wildlife is found in abundance in this area.
