Ankasy Lodge

Tsiandamba | Madagascar

A small beachfront ecological hotel located on a splendid turquoise water beach in the south-west of Madagascar, in this remote area of Ankasy, where you can have the whole beach to yourself

Location: Ankasy Lodge is located in the south-west of Madagascar, 80 km north of Tulear. The establishment enjoys a unique natural setting facing a turquoise lagoon and a white sand beach of over 1.5 km.

How to get here: Fly to Tuléar and take a 4×4 transfer on a paved road followed by a sandy track which takes about 2 hours.

Structure: The landscape is filled with cacti, octopus trees, baobab trees and pure white sand. The sea with many shades of blue is incredible. The isolated hotel offers nine large exclusive bungalows, with a direct access to the beach and the lagoon. The bungalows are all facing the lagoon and have large windows.

Why staying here: If you have to choose between Salary Bay or Ankasy, we would recommend to stay in Ankasy, because of the unique beach phenomenon Parallels of Ankasy, the black zebra-like stripes unique in the world that strike the lagoon. If you stay at Ankasy Lodge, you can come anytime to this beach paradise. Salary Bay is 1h after Ankasy and is the best diving spot in this region. You can’t make a mistake with either of them, but the parallels of Ankasy are really special.

Road & River

This trip is for the adventure seekers and travelers who like being close to nature. This is definitely a road trip with some portions covered by boat. The itinerary offers a slow-paced journey into the western region of Madagascar, the land of Sakalava and Menabe. Since flying within the country can sometimes be unreliable, a road trip comes handy. During the river cruising overnight is done in tents with a romantic dinner by the campfire. You will get to see Tsingy and the majestic baobabs too. The trip can be done both on a private and shared basis. Get in touch for more info about scheduled departures. Off we go!
