Location: Hotel Thermal is located in the south-eastern part of Madagascar, in the beautiful Ranomafana Rainforest. Hotel Thermal is a 3-star hotel, surrounded by a green garden. It has been refurbished and reopened recently.
How to get here: Fly to Antananarivo Airport and then take a road transfer to Ranomafana. It is located close to the town of Fianarantsoa and the RN7 national road. The total trip takes 9 hours, therefore we recommend to break the journey in Antsirabe, stay there overnight and continue driving the next day.
Structure: All the 20 rooms have full comforts like free WI-FI, safe, minibar, cable TV and air conditioning. The on-site restaurant serves delicious Malagasy dishes. In the back of the lush tropical garden, there are 2 jaccuzzis with natural hot spring water. The rooms are very spacious, with modern furniture. The gorgeous garden has unique plants and flowers, pineapples, avocados, jackfruit, bananas and a view on the hills of the rainforest.
Why staying here: This hotel is cozy and welcoming and the big plus is the on-site thermal pools. You can truly relax after the hikes in the humid rainforest. Ranomafana National Park is the third largest national park in Madagascar and home to many endemic plants and animals. It is declared as a UNESCO World Heritage site. This rather hilly and steep rainforest has defined paths and is a very humid place. There are several trails in the park, from short 2 hour walks to 4-5 hour walks or even several days hikes with camping.
