La Dune des Songes

Location: La Dune des Songes is located in Anakao, south-west of Madagascar. It is accessible only by boat, set on an expansive 8-hectare dune landscape with 500 meters of pristine beachfront.

How to get here: To get here you will have to fly to Toliara (TLE) and then take an early morning boat transfer to Anakao. 

Structure: This remote hotel has 5 beachfront bungalows with elegant walk-in showers and private terraces, seamlessly melding with the surrounding natural beauty. Wooden louvers ensure a constant flow of fresh sea air, providing an oasis of natural comfort. Each bungalow features a plush king-size bed and a single bed. The small lodge provides an unrivaled sense of seclusion and serenity. Wifi is available every day between 15:00 to 17:00. Longer connection is available on request. There is an on-site restaurant and a beach bar.

The white sand beach and the lagoon with transparent waters are great for peaceful snorkeling or canoe trips. From June to October, humpback whales come to mate and reproduce on passing in front of the hotel with the naked eye. Explore sacred caves, ancient baobabs, pachypodiums, banyan trees, turtles, lemurs, birds, flamingos on the lake of Tsimanampetsotsa.
