We give you the freedom to book the flights yourself, use miles and choose your preferred airline, and if you are stuck we can help you find the right connections. Return flights to South Africa start from £800 per person, depending on the connections and time of the year. Fly to to Cape Tonw (CPT).

When to Visit

The regions of Gauteng and Mpumalanga can be visited year round. Gautenc can be slightly colder from May to September (take a fleece with you).

Day 1 - Arrival in Cape Town

Today, you arrive in Cape Town with your toddlers. Once you’ve checked into your hotel, spend the afternoon exploring the vibrant V&A Waterfront, a top destination for families in Cape Town. Enjoy a delightful lunch at one of the many family-friendly restaurants offering diverse dining options. Afterward, head to the Two Oceans Aquarium, a must-visit attraction for young children. This engaging and educational experience features interactive exhibits, including touch pools, play areas, and colorful marine displays, all designed to captivate and educate toddlers while providing hours of entertainment. Day 2 - Table Mountain & Ostriches

After breakfast be transferred to Tafelberg Road where your family will hope onto the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway (weather permitting). You can expect to see Cape Town Cityscapes including V&A Waterfront, and the Cape Town Stadium, the Atlantic Ocean and even Robben Island in the distance. In the afternoon, head to the Cape Town Ostrich Ranch, located about 40 minutes outside of the city. This unique ranch provides guided tours where visitors can learn about the fascinating world of ostriches. Children can safely interact with these large birds by feeding and touching them. Day 3 - Camps Bay

Today spend the day at Camps Bay, one of Cape Town’s most iconic and family-friendly beach destinations. Enjoy the morning building sandcastles and playing in the gentle waves of Camps Bay Beach. The picturesque backdrop of the Twelve Apostles mountain range adds to the charm of the location. For lunch, choose from the many family-friendly restaurants along the beachfront. Day 4 - Penguins & Kirstenbosch

After breakfast, take a scenic drive to Boulders Beach to see the famous African penguin colony. Today, embark on a scenic 4-hour road transfer from Cape Town to the Gondwana Game Reserve in Kleinberg. This is the only safari reserve in South Africa that accommodated toddlers. En route, make a stop in the charming small town of Swellendam, set in the middle of picturesque surroundings, for refreshments and to stretch your legs. Upon arriving at Gondwana Game Reserve, enjoy a short, guided nature walk around the lodge. This private game reserve offers a unique, malaria-free safari experience, making it ideal for families traveling with toddlers. The reserve is home to the Big Five – lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhinoceros – along with a variety of other wildlife. As children under 6 are not allowed on the game drives, a family-friendly Bokkie drive will introduce your little ones to a safari adventure on a specially crafted non-predator game drive designed for young children. After the drive, enjoy a relaxed family lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon, take another game drive to encounter the big 5 and other wildlife such as giraffe, hippos and antelopes, leaving your little ones in the safe care of a babysitter at the lodge. Day 7 - Fynbos Bush Exploration

Today is your final opportunity to immerse yourself in the adventure of the African bush at Gondwana Game Reserve. Begin your day with an early morning game drive or a guided bush walk to experience the wildlife and natural beauty up close, while a babysitter cares for your toddlers. Alternatively, enjoy another Bokkie drive with your little ones, offering a family-friendly safari experience and a chance to spot more animals in the reserve’s diverse landscape. Spend the afternoon unwinding at the lodge, taking in the tranquil surroundings. As the day ends, savor your last evening in the African bushveld over dinner, soaking up the breathtaking scenery. Day 8 - George

Today, you will transfer to George (50 min), a charming town on the Garden Route, known for its scenic beauty, outdoor adventures, and rich historical and cultural attractions. After checking in to your boutique hotel, head to the Outeniqua Transport Museum, where you can explore a fascinating collection of vintage locomotives, carriages, and other railway artifacts that offer valuable insight into the evolution of rail transport in South Africa. In the afternoon, visit Victoria Bay Beach, a popular spot known for its pristine sands and calm waters, ideal for families with toddlers. Here, you can relax, swim, or enjoy some beachside fun, all while soaking up the stunning coastal scenery that makes the Garden Route so special. Overnight at Berry Cherry Guest Lodge.

Day 9 - Departure

After enjoying a hearty breakfast and checking out from your hotel, spend your morning at Redberry Farm, a popular family-friendly attraction near George. Here, your little ones can delight in strawberry picking, a fun and interactive activity that’s perfect for toddlers. The farm also offers a variety of child-friendly activities, including a mini train ride through the picturesque fields and exciting go-karting for some added adventure. After your visit, check out and transfer to George Airport (a 1-hour drive) for a short, scenic flight to Cape Town (CPT), concluding your unforgettable family tour in South Africa.
