We want you to embark on your trip feeling comfortable that you have the right travel insurance in place. Getting the best cover to suit your plans will give you reassurance from the point you book to when you travel, but we know that the coronavirus pandemic is making that choice harder. Most travel insurers have either withdrawn cover or introduced exclusions in their products since the start of the outbreak.
Insurers now regard Covid-19 as a ‘known event’. Rather than a one-off disruption, like a hurricane or volcanic eruption, they consider it an on-going situation which is still unfolding. This makes it difficult for the insurance market to provide cover against.
After extensive review, we’ve identified Journeyman as one of the more comprehensive travel insurers right now. Their products don’t offer 100% comprehensive cover against all Covid-19 risks, but they do provide a good level of cover.
Boutique Travel Experts do not sell travel insurance. But we can point you in the direction of Journeyman policies. Everyone has different circumstances, so you should speak to a Journeyman advisor to decide if they have a policy that suits your needs.
You can visit Journeyman‘s website to read an outline of its Covid-19 policies.
It’s important that you speak with an advisor and read the policy wording in full before going ahead with the policy.
As with all insurance policies, there are exclusions for certain scenarios. Make sure to pay attention to age limits, trip duration, trip value and pre-existing medical conditions and to be aware that certain activities may attract an additional premium or be excluded entirely (for example, winter sports, travel at high altitudes, scuba diving, zip-lining).
