Palissandre Cote Ouest

Morondava | Madagascar

This is one of the best hotels in Morondava, the gateway to the Avenue of Baobabs in Madagascar. The hotel is located in the nice area of the city, where you can walk freely to the nearby shops and restaurants, enjoy stunning sunsets over the beach and benefit from comfortable rooms with A/C

Location: Palissandre Cote Ouest is a beach hotel located in Morondava, in the south-west of Madagascar. The hotel is located on the most beautiful part of the beach, called Nosy Kelly, 30 minutes drive from the famous Avenue of Baobabs.

How to get here: To get here you will have to fly to Morondava (MOQ) and then take a short 20-min road transfer to the hotel.

Structure: Palissandre Cote Ouest has 29 rustic bungalows built from granite stone, rosewood wood and Mokotry roof. The  spacious bungalows are nestle on a white sand beach between cocoa and coconut palms while having a private terrace with a sea view. The rooms have king-size beds, air conditioning, mosquito net, mini bar, TV and safe. The bathrooms are private and have hot water. The restaurant serves world cuisine and can accommodate up to 70 seats. The pool bar is lovely, overlooking the sea. The hotel offers babysitting services. There is a spa with excellent massages.

Why staying here: Palissandre Cote Ouest is a stylish and authentic hotel outside of the chaotic center, perfectly located for visiting the Avenue of Baobabs. The rooms have AC (rarely found in Madagascar, but badly needed in Morondava). From the private terrace you can enjoy stunning sunsets.

Road & River

This trip is for the adventure seekers and travelers who like being close to nature. This is definitely a road trip with some portions covered by boat. The itinerary offers a slow-paced journey into the western region of Madagascar, the land of Sakalava and Menabe. Since flying within the country can sometimes be unreliable, a road trip comes handy. During the river cruising overnight is done in tents with a romantic dinner by the campfire. You will get to see Tsingy and the majestic baobabs too. The trip can be done both on a private and shared basis. Get in touch for more info about scheduled departures. Off we go!
